Coursebook is down and I'm out of tissues.

For the record, we are trying and have been for 10 minutes.

Yeah, that can't possiblie go badly. Well, I suppose it's too late, but I
think that maybe you should have expected problems with CourseBook and
planned ahead.

Haha, I'm sorry, that's just stupid. Anyways, if the ECE department can't
make a server that can withstand students actually submitting assignments,
then I think they'll have to deal with it. I know CS servers have screwed
up under heavy load before and the course staff have been able to deal
with it in a fair and reasonable way almost all of the time, so I wouldn't
worry too much.

Honestly, I think the whole CourseBook for submitting assignments is
incredibly silly. The submit program used in CS is a perfectly good,
reliable, and robust tool...everything a software engineer should want.
Neither CourseBook nor submit may be meant for something this big, but
maybe take a lesson from Graphics or Realtime wherein you submit a
checksum (or use the modification date) of your directory and make it
readable to course staff -- the checksum/modification date ensures that
you don't modify it after the deadline, and there's no moving of massive
files.

It turned out that the application was hanging and the system is now back
on-line.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
