Can we assume client and server generate the necessary .o files on their own?

I read in the evaluation steps that the suggested command for compiling client (step 2) and server (step 3) directly use client.o, server_functions.o, server_function_skels.o and server.o. Does that mean these .o files are already in place before copying librpc.a and rpc.h onto the client and server machine?

Thanks.

From the Assignments page off of the course web page:
"Assignments may be submitted up to 48 hours late but no personnel
support (either through direct contact, e.g. office hours, or online)
past the due date will be provided. "
