mysterious bug that only occurs on one box

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else has experience an error with the controller in the back left corner of the lab? When I run my code on that box, gibberish appears on my terminal emulator when I try and write to the UART, but if I run my code on any of the other boxes it works fine.
