I saw there's a emulator for the class.
But I can't setup that properly. Is there any ways to set that up so that I can test at home?

flavour of the course - if those are what you're following, that's why
they don't work.
I've had good results using QEMU to run my system, and I would share the
instructions & code for it except that I'm not sure if doing so would be
in line with course policies.

Sharing instructions on running the emulator would be fine. Obviously don't
share your code, however.
