New Voice Activated Brower
Opera Software announced the development of a voice activated Internet
browser. It utilizes IBMąs ViaVoice technology that will "listen" to the
userąs requests. The program would be most useful for laptops, PDAs and
mobile phones that are Internet ready. Although this software is being
development at the moment, it has still a long way to go for it to
understand human speech. For example, when it was tested to listen for
"a pizza", the program registered it as "eight pizza". It was corrected
when the user said "one pizza". Opera plans to launch the English
version of the browser for windows, and later or other operating systems
such as Linux. The creation of this software will obviously make
computer usage even easier and user friendly.
