3) What specific titles would you like to see this term?
4) Group Order
CTRL-A sometimes holds group orders, which allows members to purchase
anime at prices lower than full retail price (as described on the web
page at http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/clubs/ctrl-a/grouporder/ )
Would you participate in a group order if it was held in the coming
term?
5) Anime in the A/V Department
CTRL-A has purchased laserdiscs and placed them in the A/V department
for members to view (as described on the web page at
http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/clubs/ctrl-a/avlib.html ).
Have you watched any anime using this service?
Do you think CTRL-A should continue purchasing anime for the A/V
department?
6) It has been suggested that CTRL-A purchase its own video and sound
equipment for use at shows.
This has several benefits:
- We will be less constrained by the A/V department's
equipment-usage policies. This means that we can schedule our shows as
best serves our members, rather than working around the A/V-imposed
restrictions (such as ending the show by 10:30 pm). We can also extend
each show to the following Saturday, not just the Friday evening.
- We will be better able to show anime TV series that have not yet been
commercially released in North America. Examples include Vision of
Escaflowne, Fushigi Yuugi, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and so on.
- The club will save money in the long run (currently we spend about
$1500 per year on A/V department charges, equipment rental, and so
forth).
Purchasing this equipment may require an increase in the membership fee
from its current level of $5 per term.
This would, however, have the benefit of allowing us to move the
schedule around to suit the membership, lengthen the shows, show more
variety of anime, and so forth.
Would you support an increase in the membership fee to help the club
purchase its own video and sound equipment?
If so, what do you feel would be a fair membership fee?
7) How did you first find out about CTRL-A?
-Poster on the wall
-Word of mouth
-Internet resource
-Poster in frosh kit
-Other (please specify)
