1. POSITIONS

The finalized list for the S98 executives are:

President: John Lai
Vice President: Karl Zaryski

Web Maintainer: Darcy Casselman

2. AV/FORMAT

After preliminary inquiries, the club has received the following figures
for the necessary AV system:

New Audio System: $3,000

Custom Consumer Audio System:
- 12 input mixer $1,500 - 2,000
- amplifier $1,000
- speaker $ 630 ea.
- stands $ 40 ea.
- system* $1,800 ea.

Video Projector:
- Sharp NV2U Projector (LCD) $6,950

* The club has debated whether to purchase a durable industrial system
or a more fragile consumer system.
The consensus is that by purchasing a consumer system the club will
get a system with more desirable
features, with the only drawback being that we must handle the
equipment with care.

After this preliminary check on the prices for AV equipment, the club
has voted to purchase the AV equipment for use in future shows. Members
are urged to check the prices for the aforementioned items at various
sources and to e-mail the club if they can find good equipment for low
prices.

With regards to the show format, the Friday shows will remain the same,
showcasing domestic titles for which the club has the appropriate
authorizations. The Saturday shows, which will incorporate the new AV
system, will either be in the format of the Friday shows or in the
format of the fourth show.

3. Membership Fees

Over the past few terms, Ctrl-A have posted several electronic surveys
to see if the members would object to an increase in membership fees.
The results of these surveys have shown that the club members generally
feel that an increase of 2 to 3 dollars to the membership fee is
acceptable. After a vote, the club has decided to increase membership
fees to 8 dollars to cover for the purchase of the new AV system. This
will save the club money in the long run and give the club a certain
degree of freedom in the material we showcase.

4. Next Meeting

The next meeting for the club will be at 6:15 p.m. on May 26, 1998, in
MC 2034. Attendance is encouraged.

The tentative line-up for the first show is as follows:
