Question about fermentation project - part I

To Prof. Jervis or anyone else in the class:

Q: How specific should the plant specifications be. For example do we need
to show details on for example the utility systems, steam generation,
chilling towers, pumps and piping etc.

Also should we detail the sterilization of process equipment and the
various equipment and procedures required to sterilize the various systems
after use.

1) you do not need detailed specifications of any process equipment for
Part I.

... but you do need to specify what equipment will be needed at a level of
detail sufficient for a "preliminary plant layout and design" (i.e. use your
own judgment)

3) you do NOT need to specify operating procedures

... but your plant layout should be specified with normal plant operation
procedures in mind
