4. Technical Presentation
Martin Talbot Title : Haptic and Auditory Vision
Abstract:
I will talk a little about my PhD?s second stage: this talk is about the
study and the design of interactive frameworks for the enhancement of
spatial orientation in blind condition. 1) I will describe what makes
vision and haptic superior modalities for collecting spatial information
from the environment, and what makes audition inferior. 2) I will present
theory and evidence from studies with blind people on spatial awareness.
3) Finally, I will use these points to motivate the design of an initial
system, which I have implemented, but not tested.
