Hi everyone,

A few ISO-related things to check out this week…

1) Paper Sale: Wednesday, November 18th from 11:00 to 1:00 outside of the HUB

Come chat it up with ISO members and get the newest edition of our biweekly newspaper, Socialist Worker (http://socialistworker.org/).  We'll have a table setup with all sorts of revolutionary literature to checkout as well.

2) SOLE meeting: Wednesday, November 18th at 5:30 in the School of Social Work on the UW campus (room B14)

Help us plan what steps SOLE should take next on campus and in the broader UW community to further protect the rights of LGBT people.  There’s lots to discuss, and fresh ideas are welcome!

3) Weekly Branch Meeting: Wednesday, November 18th at 7:00 in the School of Social Work on the UW campus (room B14)

Join the ISO for its weekly branch meeting.  We’ll spend some time debriefing our conference from last weekend (which was a smashing success!), and also discussing our longer term goals as a branch.

4) Meaning of Marxism book discussion: Sunday, November 21st at 12:00 in Café Solstice (4116 University Way)

What is Marxism?  What relevance does it have today?  What differentiates the International Socialist Organization from other socialist groups in Seattle?  Join us for part 5 of a 6-week study group based on The Meaning of Marxism by Paul D’Amato (available online from Haymarket Books, or at any ISO meeting or event).  Schedule of readings below.  Even if you haven’t read anything from the book, you’re more than welcome to join in the discussion!

More info at http://isoseattle.blogspot.com/.  We hope to see you at some of our events.

If you have any questions, please direct them to is...@uw.edu.  And don’t hesitate to forward this message to any folks you think may be interested in the ISO!

Solidarity,

ISO, UW
