Hello Haiti Group-

Our Kick-Off went great! Here is a summary of what we accomplished and decided. If you didn't get a chance to make it, don't worry! This email will help you stay informed.
 
After a description of the history and scope of our project, we organized ourselves into "Sub-Groups." Each sub-group will be responsible for one major task of the Haiti Group. There are no other entire group meetings scheduled at this time. Feel free to attend any or as many sub-group meetings that interest you.
 
Here is the Sub-group update:
  • Pipe-Crossing Group
    • Meeting Monday Sept 21st 6:00 pm in room TBD
    • Read the attached descriptions of the preliminary pipe crossing designs
  • Materials Testing / Roof Design
    • Meeting Thursday Sept 17th 6:00 pm in E^2 Cafe in the E-hall lobby
    • Try a 10 minute google search on Latex concrete designs
    • Feel free to bring the products/links of your research and the questions you developed
  • Agricultural/Education
    • Meeting Monday Sept 21st 7:00 pm E-Hall Lobby
    • Research on your own about Haiti in general, and especially deforestation problems
    • Visit www.ewbuw.org and click resources -->scroll to "databases"-->research health and education
    • Come with your ideas and questions ready
Anybody can attend any meeting. Also, these meeting times are only for these days. Each sub-group will eventually find a meeting time that works with each sub-group members' schedules!
