Good morning,
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Row (or Walk) to End Alzheimer's.
The goal for our team was to raise $10,000. We have raised $21,458.30! This is an amazing outcome! You did this! The Upper Valley has the advantage of the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation. It is a not-so-secret weapon impacting the local quality of life. Byrne dollars enhance and emphasize what is important to the residents of this community. In this case over $8,880 contributed to our fundraising success.
Our team had 133 members! For some this was your first year, but many of you show up year after year to make a difference. Some raised funds, some donated, some did both. Some rowed, some walked, some volunteered, all contributed.
As important as fundraising is, so is raising awareness. Watching all those folks clad in purple rowing down the river is certainly one way to grab some attention for a cause!
The
Upper Valley Walk (which included rowing, biking, baking, barking, walking, and more!) has raised over $190,000 towards our ambitious goal of $212,000. 655 participants. 83 teams. 1 cause.
Those dollars raised will provide support to all of those facing Alzheimers. It drives research toward treatment, and ultimately a cure. Dollars that will impact individual families and broad communities. We all have some connection to Alzheimer's disease, making it an easy cause for us to band together around.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
And
PS - the fundraising is still live. There is still time to
donate!
