Hello UVRF,
Great LONG day of racing in Hartford CT for our Juniors and Masters on Sunday. The trailer was packed to the brim to support our 20 entries in various events. It was a busy regatta with about 800 entries overall. Lovely hot day. The only surprise was the amount of floating weedy grass, exposed by low river levels. Coxswains in the 8s could recover their steering if they swept their hand under the hull to pull hunks off of the skeg and rudder. Check out this picture of the day of stroke seat Ala clearing the skeg of her quad!
Overall results are here:
Many thanks to Chuck, Ian, Rowan, and Ryan and everyone who jumped in to help make the day go more smoothly. Chuck's watch showed 26,000 steps! And we were undeterred by a nearly flat tire on the trailer on the way home.... Luckily there was a truck stop near the boathouse, and even though its air pump was broken, a super nice guy behind the store counter just happened to have a battery operated pump in his car!!! Saved us a LOT of time and headache. Never a dull moment!
Great racing UVRF ! Onward to NH Championships, HOCR and the Fish.
