Hello UVRF!
I was too tired to write another email yesterday, but wanted to let you know that the racing at our Granite State Fours Championship regatta was very successful. We retained the Team Trophy, the powerhouse girls varsity squad swept all its races (1, 2 and 3V), winning by incredible margins (averaging around 15 seconds!) and kept the Varsity Cup. The boys have gained good speed over the season and narrowly missed reclaiming the Varsity cup by 7/10s of a second. The novices continued to show grit and speed. All in all a very good day.
HERE is a link to the lineups and the results.
This Saturday, May 23 we are hosting our final race of the season, the Granite State Sculling Championships. This includes NH sculling powerhouses Great Bay Rowing and Amoskeag Rowing Club (sculling only programs) as well as Baboosic Lake Rowing club, Derryfield School and Putney School. To accommodate all events, we will be using two teams of starters running races every 10 minutes from 9 am to 1 pm. Parking starts at 7:15 a.m. and even with requiring our athletes to park at Richmond Middle School, parking is extremely tight.
All the best,
Carin Reynolds
