If you have thought about trying sweep rowing (rowing with 1 oar along with 7 other folks in an eight person shell), then now is the time.

We are running Novice Sweep Session 2 starting Monday, July 6.
It was not visible on Regatta Central for a while, so if you went to sign up and did not see it, it is available now.

Here is the link to the description on the UVRF website.

Here is the link to Regatta Central to register for the program, drop down the Programs and Classes to find Novice Sweep Session 2

It will run for 4 weeks, M,W,F from 5:45-7:15 pm starting this coming Monday, July 6 through July 31.
Some sessions will be coached by Ryan Hickox and some by Chuck Nagle.
Cost is $210
You do need to register for a USRowing membership (there is a 60 day Learn to Row membership for $10 that can be upgraded to an annual Basic for $20).
I have attached a document telling how to join USRowing if you need to do that.

A swim test is also required, but you can sign a waiver in lieu of the test for Novice sweep.
Or you can take the attached swim test certification document to UVAC, CCB or Storrs Pond and have a lifeguard administer the test.
We do schedule UVRF administered tests at CCB, but the next one is Wednesday, July 8 at 6:00 pm.

If you have any questions, email me,

Chuck Nagle, Executive Director UVRF
