Volunteer Day - Union Village Dam Trails

Dear All,

 

The Thetford Trails Team invites you to help with trail projects at Union Village Dam multiuser trail network on Sunday, September 15, from 8 a.m. to noon. 

 

We will have two projects running simultaneously: 

 

East Branch:  

·         Meeting at the parking area on the north end of Buzzell Bridge Road. 

·         The seasonal gate will be opened so we can drive to the Mystery Trail entrance.

·         Our primary effort will be to continue water management efforts on the popular entrance to the Mystery Trail and west side of the Chutes swimming area.

West Branch:

·         Meeting at the pull-off/entrance to the West Branch from Tucker Hill Road.

·         The seasonal gate will be opened so we can drive to the summer parking area.

·         Our primary effort is to reroute the entrance to the trail on the West Branch. 

·         If we have enough time and volunteers, we would also like to position building materials for a future boardwalk reconstruction.

These projects involve moving dirt, mud, and wood, so dress appropriately and bring a pair of work gloves. We will provide all needed tools. The Upper Valley Trails Alliance will join us to offer expert guidance and direction. We will proceed rain or shine, unless heavy rain is forecasted, in which case we'll cancel by email in advance.
