Dear UVM GIS user ...
Yesterday I received the following GIS education offer
from ESRI, and have sent in the forms necessary for UVM
to receive the free 100 seats. This looks like an
interesting opportunity to students and faculty who
want to enhance their ARC/Info and ARC/View skills
as well as maybe learn a few new tricks. Please feel free
to announce this offer to your classes and staff and
department meetings.
For more information about enrolling in one of these
courses, please contact me, Steve....@Uvm.Edu ...
Please include "ESRI Virtual Campus" in the message

Dear ESRI University Site License Administrator:
I am pleased to inform you that ESRI wishes to recognize
and support your commitment to GIS education by awarding
100 seats for ESRI technology training at the ESRI
Virtual Campus at no charge to your institution. The
campus offers self-paced courses on GIS science, GIS
applications, and GIS technology vfa the World Wide Web
and includes numerous learner support services including
a comprehensive GIS library. The technology courses
included in this award cover ESRI software from ArcView
GIS and its extensions to ArcInfo 8.
The purpose of this award--valued at $5,000--is twofold:
To support your faculty and staff who need training in
order to use GIS software effectively in the classroom,
and to demonstrate the support that our campus can offer
your GIS programs.
Many higher education programs already make good use of
the ESRI Virtual Campus. Its courses are assigned like
textbooks, used as the laboratory component to
introductory GIS courses, and as prerequisites to
applied studies. Several ESRI Virtual Campus courses
earn credit towards GIS certificate programs through
University of Southern California and University of
California at Riverside Extension.
ESRI Virtual Campus courses save countless hours of
faculty time by providing well-designed, thoroughly
tested training materials that learners can access from
home, work, or school. Successful completion of a course
requires passing a rigorous online exam and learners
earn official ESRI certificates of completion for their
efforts.
