SENIOR UNIX SYSTEM ENGINEER
24 x 7 production support of large UNIX network.
Skills Requirements:
1.At least 5 years experience working with Unix Systems in a large
production environment.
2.Must have extensive experience in administering Solaris Unix Systems.
This includes installation, patch installation, disk
configuration, network configuration, and familiarity with all of the
standard UNIX tools.
3.Must be familiar with Sun hardware architecture.
4.Should be thoroughly familiar with internet protocols and configuration
of servers that support them: HTTP, FTP, POP,
SENDMAIL, DNS, NFS, SMB, SSH.
5.Must have experience in shell and PERL scripting for the purpose of
systems administration.
6.Experience with different type of RAID configurations and advanced file
system managers such as Veritas or Sun
DiskSuite.
7.Experience managing systems in a clustered environment.
Preferred:
1.Experience in a high-level programming language such as C in such tasks
as network programming, UNIX ipcs, file io,
threads, and process control.
2.Experience with Linux.
3.Networking Experience.
4.Familiarity with Oracle databases.
Candidate should be able to creatively administer new projects though the
implementation phases. Candidate should also be
able to effectively monitor performance of systems and make recommendations
for improvement of enterprise applications.
S/he must also have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to quickly
determine and solve issues in a fast-paced
atmosphere. Previous experience in an Internet related environment is
preferred
