‘Damage Done: A Drug War Odyssey’, 6:30 pm at Movie Monday, Eric Martin Pavilion, 1900 Block of Fort St. Movie will be introduced by member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), and followed by a community dialogue.
Tuesday 8th:
1) UVSS Harm Less Club presents Drug War Shorts MovieFest and Dialogue, 11:30-12:30pm, Hickman Building (HHB), Room 110.
2) Stigma and Drug Use Panel and Discussion with Dr. Cecilia Benoit PhD, Dr.Susan Boyd PhD, Lynn Belle-Isle MA; chaired by Philippe Lucas MA, Victoria City Council. 7-9pm, Fernwood Community Association (1923 Fernwood Rd.).
Wednesday 9th:
1) Committee To End Homelessness Dessert Discussion on Stigma and Drug Use, 1:30pm, Our Place Chapel (919 Pandora Ave.).
2) SOLID Meet & Greet Open House! 5:30pm - 6:30pm, 857 Caledonia Ave. Come see ‘RIG DIG’ - a film about SOLID.

Presentations & Personal Accounts of Stigma Shared With Victoria City Council, 7:30pm, Victoria City Hall.
Friday 11th:
1) SOLID/HRV Anti-Stigma Vigil for Drug War Survivors, 6pm, Centennial Square.
2) SOLID/HRV Anti-Stigma Coffee House, 7-9:30pm. St. John the Divine Parish Hall.
Saturday 12th:
Beddow Centre First Annual General Meeting, 2-4pm, Downtown Activity Centre (755 Pandora Avenue).

Memorial March for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, 12 pm Meet at Pandora & Vancouver at 1pm, march to Thunderbird Park. Organized by the UVic Native Students Union.
February 2, 2011, Victoria, Lekwungen and WSANEC territories- A collective of local individuals and groups will launch the first ever “Greater Victoria Anti-Stigma Week” from February 7th to February 14th. The goal of the week is to expose the impacts of stigma on the health and well being of our communities and transform stigma into dignity for all. Anti-Stigma Week has been officially declared by the City of Victoria and daily events throughout the week will reflect this year's theme of “Drug Use, Dignity and Human Rights.” A host of events will include panel discussions, film screenings, an art walk, and an anti-stigma vigil.
“Our hope is that this week will start the conversation around stigma and drug use in Victoria. Public engagement is crucial for understanding the dehumanizing effects of stigma, and for the full acknowledgement of human rights and dignity for all people in our city,” says organizer Philippe Lucas.
“People who use illicit drugs face incredible stigma and discrimination which stands as a barrier to accessing basic needs such as health care and housing,” states organizer Heather Hobbs. “We want people in Victoria to consider how their attitudes and actions impact the people that they see on the streets and get involved to transform stigma into actions that reflect a more engaged, open community.”
Participating organizations include: The Beddow Centre, the Committee to End Homelessness in Victoria, Harm Reduction Victoria, PEERS, Society of Living Intravenous Drug Users (SOLID), UVSS Harm Less Club, Vancouver Island Public Interest Research Group (VIPIRG), the Victoria Coalition Against Poverty (VCAP), Faith in Action, Center for Addictions Research of British Columbia (CARBC), and Our Place.
