IHave an Asrock 390m-itx/ac mobo. Everything was fine, but then these automatic updates were pushed to my pc, and now the intel wireless bluetooth is screwed up. You can see the little usb icon in the systray toggling on/off continuously, and if you look in device manager, the icon is constantly disappearing and reappearing, and you can hear the windows new connection sound effect constantly going off. Intolerable.

I should note that when I see intel wireless in my device manager, i can uninstall, but there is no checkbox to delete files as well. This does exist on Intel Bluetooth. When I reboot, the Intel Wireless driver is already reinstalled.

I had recently updated Intel BT drivers and after that no BT device would connect to my desktop PC anymore. The BT on/off toggle had disappeared form that right-side panel accessible from the taskbar. When I opened Device Manager, the entire tree of devices would keep on refreshing every 2 seconds, until I manually disabled the Intel BT adapter (which was being continuously reset or something). I tried all manners of drive removal/upgrade/downgrade to no avail. Of course I tried rebooting the computer and even messed a bit with BIOS configs for nothing.

Yep. Like many others, I created an account to say thank you- roughly four years after this thread was created. The solution is still relevant, and it's far and away much easier and less time consuming than any of the other "solutions" I tried.

Edit: It might be important to add that different machines might require a longer or shorter interruption in the power supply for this to work. I've seen one person in this thread who unplugged their machine for 15 minutes, but I only unplugged mine for about 30 seconds.

I tried that but device manager doesn't show any network adapter. I bought a macbook air just last week and installed windows 10 (education) on it. I see only 'network controller' in device manager. On a related note, I did have problems installing Windows 10 on this macbook. After Bootcamp assistant created the windows install disk on a flash drive, the computer restarted but did not automatically go to the install disk to bbot up. I had to restart it again and hold the option key for it to do that. So I still do not get the bootcamp screen when I startup. Could my problem be related to that?

I have a similar problem, except I am using a 2008/2009 iMac (I know, ancient by now) and Windows 7. I have been using Windows 7 on this Mac with wifi for a couple years now without apparent problems, but last week my Mac wouldn't boot up (stuck in endless loading at grey screen) (Windows side did boot up and appeared fine). Long story short, the Mac drive was corrupted and I ended up having to erase my Mac HD, reinstall the OS (I stick with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on that computer), and restore my files with a Time Machine back-up.

Now having done that the Mac side seems to be back to normal, but the Windows 7 now will not connect to the Wifi. I tried uninstalling broadcom as was suggested here and doing the hardware scan. Broadcom reappeared on the list but my wifi connection did not return. Any ideas?

I can see the wifi router but it won't connect and took some time to figure out why. My workaround this persistent connectivity issue is to unplug my external monitor before connecting to the wifi router. This indicates I may have a power supply or power management issue. This issue only occurs in Bootcamp, not macOS so it's more likely a power management issue than a power supply issue. Maybe the factory fitted dedicated NVidia GeForce 750M in the high-end late 2013 15" Macbook Pro uses a lot of power when piping to a 4K external monitor via displayport. Once I'm connected to wifi in Bootcamp I can plug the monitor back in and proceed without issues.

I am totally not sure about the true reason. But just to cope with this trouble, I believe it worth to try it. By the way, when I connect the external monitor, I use the USB-C port on right side (using USB-C > D-sub adapter).

If BC drivers are not installed yet, using Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems - Apple Support find the W8.1 64-bit drivers appropriate for your Mac year/model and test. W10 is not officially supported yet.

If you really want to play with it, install it in VirtualBox or VMWare Fusion or something. At least the networking functions will work that way. Setting custom screen resolutions is still difficult if not impossible as it doesn't work with the display drivers in most virtualization packages that provide custom scaling, etc.

The steps which you are asking me to perform has been already done at my level, so let me explain you again. At BIOS level test which you have asked me to do in component section its showing successful with no issues.

The problem lies at the Hardware level on windows, as this model is using MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6 802. 11ax PCIe Adapter. So every alternate days it gives me error that ethernet adapter is not available and during that time Wi-Fi doesn't work and driver for this hardware getting deleted automatically when I see in device manager.

In order to fix it I tried all possible solution(1. By installing driver manually, 2. Reset network setting, 3. Deleting and updating driver, 4. Restoring all drivers by their party tools) and only solution is to rest the Laptop back to its factory settings by using recovery pen drive which takes an hour every time. So in short I am getting this problem every alternate days and resetting the Laptop every time which is really not a solution for this issue which you guys have suggested multiple time i.e. to reset the Laptop.

Hope I have explain the issue properly this time and looking for some wise fix or replacement of this Laptop. I bought this on 31st December 2021 and its just 1.5 months and its scrap for me as I am not able to use internet.

I have the exact same problem, but it is sporadic: The icon is fine most of the time, except after some events, e.g. installing updates, it turns into a question mark, while the connection is still fine.

The most probable reason for this behavior might be that this connectivity checks feature act as a third-party network manager and hence when it tries to read network endpoints, which VPN services like Cloudflare warp restrict, we get the warning in network logs and question marks appears on wifi icon.

Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. With VPN ON, "Old Wi-Fi Profile" is displayed above "Local Area Connection 2" (Wi-Fi icon). With VPN OFF, only "Old Wi-Fi Profile" is displayed (still Wi-Fi icon). This is, probably, the normal and correct way the icon is shown.

When I connect with "New Wi-Fi Profile", the Wi-Fi icon is displayed only if VPN is OFF. As soon as I set VPN ON, the System Tray icon changes to an Ethernet icon. Toggling VPN ON / OFF also toggles the icon.

A clue? Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. With VPN ON, "Local Area Connection 2" is shown above "New Wi-Fi Profile" (Ethernet icon). With VPN OFF, only "New Wi-Fi Profile" is shown (Wi-Fi icon).

1) Try disabling the TAP-Windows Adapter V9. This is a virtual network adapter that is used by many VPN clients, including Bitdefender VPN. It is possible that there is a conflict between the two Wi-Fi adapters and the TAP-Windows adapter. To disable the TAP-Windows adapter, follow these steps:

3) Try updating the drivers for your ASUS PCE-AC51 Wi-Fi card. It is possible that there is a bug in the current drivers that is causing the issue. You can download the latest drivers from the ASUS website.

1) It is strange that the Wi-Fi icon changes to an Ethernet icon when you connect to the VPN using the new Wi-Fi profile. This suggests that Windows is treating the VPN connection as a wired connection, even though it is actually a wireless connection.

2) The fact that the TAP-Windows adapter is shown above the new Wi-Fi profile in the Network and Sharing Center when the VPN is ON suggests that Windows may be prioritizing the TAP-Windows adapter over the new Wi-Fi adapter. This could explain why the Wi-Fi icon changes to an Ethernet icon.

If the generated logs are large, you can upload them to Google Drive or WeTransfer (with a 7-day link validity for free users). Alternatively, you can ask the support team for the Bitdefender Cloud upload link and password.

Alright so first off, I don't know much about computers so you guys might have to kind of walk me through this one. Now, basically what is happening is that my laptop (Asus X200MA running Windows 10) is missing a driver... or at least I think. Where it used to show the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar it now just shows an Ethernet symbol with no connection. I've tried everything to fix it. Nothing works. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I already tried downloading the wireless connection driver from the Asus website. It installed, I restarted my laptop and still nothing... i just want to use mynlaptop and not have to pay to get it fixed...
