Hey guys,
I hope everyone is soaking up the last few days of Christmas Break and staying warm! I just have a few important reminders about rush before we all get back to school:
P5 Speeches: For those of you who are p5ing, you must give a 90 second speech about your p5 and why she would be a great fit for Pi Phi. These speeches will be presented at the workshop on the 10th in alphabetical order (by p5 last name). Think of this speech as an elaboration of the chapter presentations. Tell stories, explain why she would exemplify Pi Phi's core values, etc - these speeches have a more serious tone than the presentations at chapter. Please plan your speeches beforehand - there is no need to have additional pictures or posters. If you are p5ing, please email me the first and last name of your p5 just to make sure I have everyone.
Get a flu shot: This is my last plea for everyone to get a flu shot. There has been a big outbreak this year and it is hitting young adults (
http://nbcnews.com/health/flu-worsens-across-u-s-hitting-younger-adults-hard-2D11851010). Do not think you are immune to the flu!!
There will be 990 girls walking through our house, shaking our hands, using our bathrooms, etc. This means if one of them has the flu, we are all at risk. Please please please do yourself and the rest of Pi Phi a favor by getting a flu shot!
Contact Policy: We will talk about this more at the workshop, but just a reminder that the second you get back to grounds, there is a strict silence no contact policy (no calling, texting, snapchatting, talking, etc.). This is very serious - chapters are not hesitant to report contact policy violations so do not think you will not be caught - there have already been some reported.
Crazy Creek Chairs: In an attempt to make MS sessions more comfortable, my advisor has ordered 10 crazy creek chairs (see attached picture) to be passed out lottery style before MS. I know alot of people have these chairs from camping or summer camp so please feel free to bring them as well!
Sorry about the long email - looking forward to seeing everyone next Thursday at 7pm.
PPLrush,
Carolyn
