Hello UVA members! Hope the new semester has been treating you all well so far.

We'll be hanging out at our Clubs Days table outside the SUB today and on Thursday from 10-4, so come say hi if you're on campus! I heard a rumour that there may even be banana blueberry muffins up for grabs if you get there early enough.

Last year's UVA directors met recently to make some initial plans for this semester, and further details will be posted soon, but please see below for some tentative dates to mark on your calendars. If you're interested in organizing or helping out with an event or volunteering as a UVA director, you can let us know by emailing uvaco...@gmail.com, or talking to us at the table or at a future UVA get-together. Getting involved with the UVA is a great way to promote veganism on campus, and it can be an extremely rewarding personal experience - your UVA is really what you make of it as a contributing member.

Upcoming events:

- Free Pancake Breakfast - Sara and Niilo's famous vegan flapjacks are back this year! Mark your calendars and plan to wear your stretchy pants on Saturday, Sept. 22nd (location TBD).
- "Eat and Greet" hang-outs have been tentatively scheduled for the first Monday evening of every month, starting Oct. 1. We're planning to rotate the location between vegan eateries and potlucks.
- Bake sale - It's never too soon to be thinking about making some delicious Halloween cupcakes. We're looking at the last week of October to plan our first bake sale benefitting Peaceful Prairie Animal Sanctuary.

I'm hungry already...hungry to effect some positive change that is! Moving hearts and minds, one pancake at a time. ;) In all seriousness though, the other directors and I are looking forward to working on this year's goals and having fun with a great bunch of people sharing an important value, and we hope to see you tomorrow and at our upcoming events.

Thanks, and see you soon!
- Erinn (on behalf of the UVA directors)
