Introduction to Animal Rights reading group

Folks,
It is now time for the much-awaited (and anticipated?) reading group. This reading group will consist of three meetings starting January 29 at 2:00pm at Green Cuisine. This first meeting is optional, but recommended. At this meeting, we will distribute the books and materials. The book is Introduction to Animal Rights by Gary Francione. We have 12 copies available for sale or loan. The sale price is $20, and for a loan we will ask for a deposit of $5. The additional materials consist of a small set of questions designed to facilitate reading and discussion of the book. The first meeting will also give everyone a chance to meet everyone else in the reading group. If you can’t make the first meeting, we can still arrange for you to get the materials and participate in the reading group.
The next meeting will occur on February 19 (3 weeks later) where we will discuss the first half of the book. We will use the questions in the provided materials to facilitate discussion and, of course, we will discuss anything that comes up otherwise.
The third meeting will occur on March 12 (3 weeks later) and will follow the same format as the second meeting. Again we’ll use the materials to facilitate discussion, but we will also discuss anything that comes up.

Since we only have 12 copies of the book, it is highly recommended that you RSVP if you are interested.
