Hi everyone,
There are a few quick items to announce, but the first is time-sensitive and the most important. If you only have a couple of minutes, please read that one!

1) Peaceful Prairie Winter Funding Drive
Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary is the home of the UVic Vegan Association's two sponsored animals, Justice and Francesca. They do excellent work caring for refugees from animal agriculture, in a respectful and non-exploitative manner. They also put a lot of effort into promoting veganism as the one way to save animals like Justice and Francesca from needing a sanctuary in the first place.
Right now they have a funding drive to prepare for the costs of winter. Recently, someone offered to double all donations up to $5000 - if they are received by Oct 28th! The UVA has raised $204 so far, and we will be sending it in immediately to take advantage of this great opportunity to double our contribution. We encourage you all to visit their web site and make your own donation - every little bit counts, especially when it's doubled!

2) New Directors
The UVA is lucky to have 4 new directors this semester. Cara, Erinn, Glenn, and Kiley are joining Chris, Niilo, and Sara to help promote veganism and support vegans however we can. If you are interested in getting involved, feel free to contact us at any time.
3) Green Cuisine!
For those that know it, Green Cuisine has been sorely missed these last many months. For those who don't, well, you don't know what you were missing. But soon you will! Green Cuisine will be re-opening soon and the UVA plans to have a celebratory dine-out. Details will be coming soon.
