Friends,
Attached (and below) is a notice of a special public witness event in Wash DC on July 31-Aug 1.
We are hoping for a very large UU turn out.
Washington DC is not that far away.
(And it is very convenient to book a reasonably priced motel at the end of the DC subway Red Line and ride into downtown DC for the event.)
Blessings

Join national faith leaders and immigrant rights advocates from across the nation July 31 to August 1 as we call on the White House to stop the deportations and end the injustice that is tearing apart our families, communities and congregation.
We need your help to engage in public witness and civil disobedience outside of the White House to bring moral clarity to the injustice of our President's immigration enforcement machine. We'll be praying for affirmative relief and the expansion of deferred action from deportation for our nation's immigrant families, so that we can keep families together.
We want this prophetic action to be massive in order to send a loud and clear message to President Obama. Therefore, you can't come alone! We're doing this together. We are encouraging you to come with members from your local team on immigrants' rights. Bring your friends, your congregation, your mom, your dad, or your partner as a supporter or participant.
WHEN: July 31 to August 1
WHERE: Washington DC
WHO: People of faith, advocates, religious leaders, laity - you can't come alone! You got to bring a friend!
COST: This is a grassroots action and funding is minimal. We are able to help locate low-cost housing in Washington DC (approx. $50/night). Participants in the civil disobedience also need to bring cash for the fine of approx. $50-100.
WHAT: A national faith-driven action to urge President Obama to stop separating families and expand deferred action
