The highlights of the year (and my schedule this week) led me to this simple report, copying from Tom's construction report and my reports... Anything important to add?
The roof has been repaired, the windows on the north side of the church and damaged doors have been replaced, and railings were installed to make access easier for all our members and guests. This was an expensive project but it needed to be done. Thanks to many folks for their efforts to make this happen: Kevin Coder and LJ Construction (roof), Nancy and Win Hancock (project coordination, railing installation), Annette Spychalla-Perrin (aesthetics) Fred Edlin (railings), David Cole (doors) and Capitol Siding (windows) as well as Steve McNally (painting, project coordination)!

The roof/window/door/railing project was the major topic of discussion at the annual meeting last April. We agonized over how we
would pay for it. Borrowing seemed to be the only viable answer but the congregation agreed that incurring a new debt for this work it was worth it. As the discussion continued, several members stood up and offered to make special contributions toward the cost of the project and invited others to follow their example. The Board agreed that the church would accept specific contributions to offset the amount that would have to be borrowed.
Several other projects that were ongoing or proposed in the May 2013 annual report were completed later in FY13: sewer repair, improved kitchen/classroom recycling container locations and labeling, and centralized recycling/trash by http://www.republicservices.com/corporate/home.aspx including a 2 cu yd recycling bin and a 2 cu yd dumpster, replacing our 4 cu yd dumpster.
Steve has been even more energetic and proactive at yard work this year, especially mowing and shoveling (as well as cleaning, painting, and other indoor tasks), often finishing before volunteers could arrive. The mowers were serviced again in the fall, and are back at church for the mowing season.
Aaron coordinated building&grounds summits on December 2 and March 20, and several related leadership summits.
All,
A few people have asked Aaron or I for an idea of how last year’s Annual Report was laid out and what reports I need. Attached is the Table of Contents from last year’s Annual Report, which should answer both questions. I’ve already received the 2013 Annual Meeting and Special Meeting Minutes from Board Clerk Mike Peckar, and also the Human Resources Committee Report.

Subject: Annual Report Deadline - May 5
To the heads of all Board and Program Committees,
Your article for the Annual Report is due on Monday, May 5. Please get it to me by 9 am so I can bundle them up and send them along to a volunteer proofreader. It takes a week to edit articles, and then every spare minute of the next two to assemble and print this document, the largest of the church year, so this deadline is absolutely critical – any late reports will be included only if there is a space for them, and as they are (no post-editing).
If you would like to review last year's Annual Report, please contact me for a copy.
