What's the Matter with Oregon's New Tax Deal?
After days of debate and deals, lawmakers in Oregon delivered hundreds of millions of dollars in unwarranted tax cuts to businesses last week as part of the legislature's 2013 special session. Unfortunately, advocates for working Oregonians will have little time to recover from the special session fight before they're confronted with Governor Kitzhaber's next pet project: weakening Oregon's so-called "over-reliance" on income taxes.
