Strange — it’s about a thing at the library, don’t know why it didn’t forward right

Teen Arts Workshop: Improvisation
Saturday, February 21 in Loucks Auditorium
Workshop: 1-4 p.m.
Performance: 4:30 p.m.

The incomparable Rev. Buerge of Capitol City Improv will lead 25 lucky teens through an afternoon of hilarious fun, learning the basics of improvisational theater before letting himself and the group loose on the world.

The first of the 2015 Teen Arts Workshops will include 3 hours of laughter, fun, and learning. After a short break, the auditorium doors will be opened and the public invited in for a free performance that puts all the students’ new skills to the test and promises excellent entertainment.

Space is very limited for this unique workshop. Pre-registration is highly recommended using the link below or at the Teen Scene Desk, 503-588-6364.

Teen Arts Workshops continue in 2015

Salem Public Library’s Teen Scene continue a series of arts workshops for middle and high school students in 2015, supported by the second year of a grant awarded by the Marion Cultural Development Corporation.

The grant for $1,900 was awarded to the Salem Public Library Foundation to support an effort which will bring four diverse performing arts professionals to Salem to engage groups of 20-25 teens in interactive arts workshops. Based on a survey of interested teens, skills taught will include improvisation, magic, music composition, and djembe drumming.

Each workshop consists of 2-3 hours of instruction open to registered teens followed by a 30-60 minute recital/demonstration that is open to the public.

Workshops will be offered throughout 2015. As space is limited, pre-registration will be required. Registration will open 6-8 weeks in advance of each workshop.
