Shopping list for Aug 3. Any voluneers?

Barbara Hughes has volunteered to prechop the celery and onions.  She will also bring the salad dressing for the bean salad.

Barbara usually brings12 loaves of bread from Flowers Bakery.


--  From Lowe's

3 large cans of pinto beans  

2 large cans of whole kernel corn.

I large can of peaches or fruit cocktail

3 40 oz or 4 30 oz cans of black beans for the bean salad  (120 oz.)

2 cantaloupes

6 bananas.

4 bags of cookies in case we run out of home made cookies




 From Costco

3 large cans of crushed tomatoes.

14 lbs of ground turkey

1 large can of diced tomatoes

1 large can of pineapple

1 jar of paprika

.

2 lb of butter.  if necessary..Carol keeps up with the butter supply..

Since I haven't stayed to finish up recently, would like to know if enough bread.  
AND, Ken you mentioned last night that there is always much salad left.  Could we cut down on the corn to one large can and cut out one 30 oz black beans?

I agree with Barbara that the visiting part is a big plus.
On the subject of how much food to fix, I'm wondering if we could just note whether there are times when we're more likely to need more black bean salad. Every now and then, it all gets eaten, like in the winter when there are more guests. Let's try cutting back for the next couple of months and see how it goes, but note whether we run out.
 
Also, it might not hurt to get an approximate "attendance" number every month to see if there's a pattern. We used to do that and it might be a great job for someone who's looking for a task. Then I can record it along with the other monthly info.
