The Claude AI can do research.
I asked Claude to do the following:

I want to improve my co2 footprint I can do a number of things. Take those things and continue searching for what I can do with those, then again take those and search more until you are down 4 levels and produce the results of the 5 most cost effective things I can do.

Here is what Claude produced:

1. Switch to LED Light Bulbs

💰 Cost: $3-8 per bulb | ⚡ Payback Period: 6 months - 2 years | 🌍 CO2 Reduction: 75-90%

2. Reduce Meat Consumption by 50% (Especially Beef)

💰 Cost: $0 (saves money) | ⚡ Immediate savings | 🌍 CO2 Reduction: Up to 1.5 tons annually

3. Use Public Transportation, Walk, or Bike for Short Trips

💰 Cost: $0-100/month transit pass | ⚡ Immediate savings | 🌍 CO2 Reduction: 1-6 tons annually

4. Install Water-Saving Fixtures (Low-Flow Showerheads & Toilets)

💰 Cost: $20-200 per fixture | ⚡ Payback Period: 6 months - 2 years | 🌍 CO2 Reduction: 500+ lbs annually

5. Start Composting and Improve Recycling

💰 Cost: $0-50 for compost bin | ⚡ Immediate implementation | 🌍 CO2 Reduction: 1-2 tons annually

—————————————————————-

Then I asked it what the world should do:

#1 Methane Emissions Reduction in Oil & Gas Sector

Cost: $0-50 per ton CO2e (often profitable)

#2 Forest Protection & Restoration

Cost: $10-50 per ton CO2e

#3 Renewable Energy Deployment (Solar & Wind)

Cost: $37-86 per ton

#4 Energy Efficiency: Building Retrofits

Cost: $40-120 per ton CO2e

#5 Electric Vehicles

Cost: $100-300 per ton CO2e avoided
