Fellow UUAA Men
I thought i'd drop a note to thank the 63 men who came to this year's dinner. As we mentioned our speaker Doug Muder maintains two blogs that you might find interesting to read
He also writes for UUWorld. The article that caught my attention originally and that several of us have read is Not my father's religion (
http://uuworld.org/ideas/articles/36467.shtml) and was alluded to in a question by Ron Shaw after the talk.
You should also know that since Doug came from New Hampshire to be our keynote speaker, we also sponsored, with the Social Justice Council, a workshop on "Class, Classism, and the Unitarian Universalist" that happened earlier today. That event was well attended also, including some 30 men and women from the congregation. As a member of the Men's Council I am happy and proud that by helping organize the morning event we have this time (like many times before) done something that benefits the congregation at large.
I hope both events will help feed our conversations about social justice.
Best wishes,
Pat Herbst
