Govt ready to face any inquiry in any issue: U''khand Min
Dehra Dun, Mar 31 (PTI) Asserting that Uttarakhand government is
committed to deal with corruption strictly, Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Prakash Pant today said it is ready to face inquiry by any
agency, including CBI.
If Congress has doubts in any matter and they want to investigate it,
they can request the UPA government at the Centre to handover it to
any agency, including the CBI, Pant told reporters.
His statement came in the wake of Congress'' demands for a CBI probe
into a number of issues on basis of the Comptroller and Auditor
General (CAG)''s report tabled in the just concluded Assembly Session.
He said the CAG report would be sent to Public Accounts Committee
(PAC) of the House and action would be taken as per its
recommendations.
"Any person, who is found guilty, would be punished," Pant said.
He pointed out that Congress MLA Pritam Singh is the chairman of PAC
and added that "they (Congress) should wait for its recommendations."
Moreover, the Minister said out of 32 paragraphs of CAG report, 14 are
related with the issues of previous Congress government, while 12
others are those which were started during previous government and
completed in ruling BJP''s tenure. Only six paragraphs are concerned
with the current government, he claimed.
Besides, there are only procedural errors which have been pointed out
during audit of works and they are not financial irregularities, he
said.
