Hi. I just wonder if this is something your customer support line would do. Yesterday, I contacted IT support and got a person on the phone. They did some trouble shooting on my computer, and then proceeded to try to sell me antivirus software for $300.00 My question is, would your customer support person really do this? It almost felt like someone hacked into your support phone number to get to me. When I initially said I was having problems, I got in contact with IT Support via text. Then they told me to wait 2-3 minutes for a real person. This person took over my computer with some sort of computer share program. They eventually showed me IP addresses that had hacked into my computer. He said, "these are people that are having fun with your computer, loading pornography and other things on your computer." This is when he said, "stay off of your computer and phone for 90 minutes and let me load the antivirus software." This is where he said the software would cost $300.00. When I declined he tried to sell me a 2-year plan for some lower cost. I declined again, and he offered a 1-year deal for $70.00. I declined everything, and he basically hung up dejectedly. Would you do this sort of thing? If just sounds really fishy to me. I would like a response, but if nothing else, you know this is going on. Maybe it's part of your protocol but it just doesn't sound right. Thanks for listening.

We continue to require that AV software be compatible, and in cases where there are known issues of AV driver compatibility, we will block those devices from updates to avoid any issues. In a default installation of Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, customers will not have an antivirus application installed by default.
