Crashes when microphone picks up any sound

Hello, I've just started using this program and it's been really great before this.

I just started having this problem today and I'm really hoping this can be fixed. I last used it about 2 days ago and it was working fine. To my knowledge, I haven't changed any settings in either Windows 10 or in the program itself to cause this.

My headset has a mic that mutes when flipped up. When I start Utterly Voice with the mic flipped up, it loads like normal. When I flip my mic down, it either closes/crashes the second the mic's flipped down, or when it recognizes the noise has reached the volume threshold for a command, I'm not sure which happens.

When I start Utterly Voice with the mic already flipped down, the program crashes once I speak into it or the ambient noise reaches the volume threshold for a command.

I'm assuming it's crashing and not just closing because it leaves an empty gap at the top of the screen with any other open programs shifted down to make room for itself. When I'd close it normally, it would shift any open programs up to fill that gap. When I try to maximize any windows, it still leaves that gap at the top of the screen.

I tried extracting the zip file to a new folder for completely fresh settings, and the same thing happens.

The last thing the log file says is "Microphone: started stream", if that's any help.

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated it. Thanks!

Hello,

We have not heard of this issue yet, so it probably has something to do with your specific hardware or software. Have you ensured that the default microphone is set to the one you want? Have you tried a different microphone?

Could you please contact us directly via the email on the about page? Also, please send us the full log file, and ensure that it does not contain any confidential information (from utterances you spoke).

Before I emailed you I remembered to make sure I didn't have any pending Windows updates first, since that has messed up other programs before. Turns out I had a pending Windows update and my anti-virus software updated and needed a restart this morning. Once I updated both and restarted my PC, it's back to working again.

Sorry about that! I need to add "check for updates" to my general list of troubleshooting steps.
