I am trying to use utracerJS to calibrate my utracer6 with the positive grid voltage and current option board.

My setup is as follows.
10K resistor connected across Grid and Cathode ports.
I(Vg, Va) with Vs, Vf = constant
Vg set to 0 to 100V
Vs = 50V
Va = 50V
Y1 set to Ig

When I sweep Y1 changes back to Ia and grid current is not displayed.
However Ig is stored in the data file as it should be.

Looking for how to get Ig to stick in the graph display after a measure command.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks for any help

I will double check later but the quick answer is that before the actual acqiusition uTracerJS always sets the Y1 and Y2 axes to Ia and Is measurements. Ig is stored and after the acquisition can be displayed by selecting Ig in one of those dropdown menus. I think I stick to that choice before uTracer6 with the positive grid extension and I only got one request from some one with that extension board, to make it work, so it works (because the protocol is also changed compared to uTracer3 and 6, so some work had to be done there as well), but if I have time I will take a look why it was critical to set all the things to default (and I have to find back my arduino simulator of uTrace6 with the positive grid :)

I also noted that after a Ig measurement and Y1 has switched to Ia automatically if I then re-select Ig manually it still does not display the Ig data.

However I noted that if after a measurement of grid current....
I go to import .UTD file, select the data file just created in the measurement, load to plot, then manually select Y1 for Ig the grid current finally does display.
Bit of a long way to get there however.

Your utracer6  arduino simulator sounds very interesting and useful.

Thanks for pointing it out. Everything was already implemented but not thoroughly tested for the part with the real acquisition (with the positive grid extension). The file import part was tested and worked. Now I fixed the other part and it should be easier (the newest version is on the website). Still the acqusition will go in Ia/Is mode but then after that you can switch to Ig with the drop down menu.

If I find time I might make the acquisition work for any settings of those dropdown menus (Ia, Ig, Is) but it requires a bit of redesigning in the code and I do not really want to touch it at this moment, taking into account that there are also two users of that extension board that I know :) Probably it will be easier to have Ia always as Y1 and then choice of Is and Ig for Y2.

It seems clearly steeped in history that only two of three data streams can be plotted on Ronald's GUI for the utracer6 at the same time.
I would suggest if the utracer6 had been the first system developed there would have been from the start the ability to display all relevant data streams on the graph at the same time.

Yes I know this would be a lot of code changes.
However when one searches for a solid engineering reason to restrict Ronald's GUI graph display to only two of the three data streams as a user I can not find a satisfactory answer.

Take care
Bob
