I have these things which I've worked on the initial stuff but yet to
be able to fully develop them. If anybody are interested in working on
them as FYP / master project or pet projects, feel free to buzz me. I
already have the rough architecture design for them which should help
you guys in learning, developing and improving them ..

1) Trajectory
- grok-like framework to develop custom app on top of plone content type
- http://grok.zope.org

2) AppRepo
- more enhancements for it is needed, theres a list of features which
you can help develop
- http://apprepo.org

3. Radiate
- a simple SocketIO service similar to pusher.com
- https://github.com/kagesenshi/radiate

and theres another one which is a new idea which might be of interest
to some. I've yet to code anything for it, and it can be quite a large
project.

1) RESTful social network server based on Open Collaboration Services
+ OStatus + SocketIO protocol
- the idea is to develop a RESTful service which provide social
network functionality for other systems to use.
- The API would be based on the OCS API :
http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/open-collaboration-services
and would have decentralized social network support through OStatus
protocol.
- The server will not provide a UI .. only RESTful resources in JSON format
- The server will have event notification through WebSocket/SocketIO,
allowing dynamic web based UI to be developed using it.
- The server will have a plugin mechanism, so that new functionalities
can be added into it easily.
- The goal is to make it easier for developers to add social network
functionalities into their custom apps, especially social-intranet
implementations.
