Salam,

Dear friends and students, UTM has become a Research University. It means research culture should and need to be embedded in its members whether academic or supporting staff and students. The Post Graduate students especially are a MUST for the purpose.

The basic of research culture elements that we would like to have are

è 1. Mind Set that says we like to do research !!!

o A wise man said ? Do what you like to do best ? or ? Do best what you do ?

o What it means is that.. if you like to do research then use the first statement... if you don?t like to do research then use the second philosophy ..

o Either one, we need to give our best for whatever we do now (as UTM members, we need to do researchs)

o Doing research would be much..much ..much easy if we work in group. As a group, every one is important .

2. Communicate /share our finding with others - YOU ARE NOT ALONE

o Written presentation

o Oral presentation

o Communication and sharing would enlight us our scholarly status / level, increase our accademic and other skills, increase self esteem and more ..

Vicubelab is planning to create that kind of environment. Research culture, people communicate their works, share knowledge, support each other etc. For this purpose, activities like colloquium, expert talk, knowledge sharing, pre-viva presentation, research group discussion will be revived. As the acting group leader for our research group, I hope each one of us can contribute and participate in the activities we are going to do in future ..
