hi,
first of all, i would like to express my sincere thanks for this
excellent job of yours. i was awed to know that utm has it's own
latex thesis template. before this i have been using the template from
the oversea's universities. i admit that i am not really good in
latex so it helps me a lot when i have a template. however the
current template am using right now does not follow the utm thesis
manual. that's why i have to google again and finally found this web.

anyway, i have downloaded utmthesis-2.5 from http://code.google.com/p/utmthesis/

later, when i tried to compile thesis.tex by using winedt 5, i have
been asked for a few packages, starting from natbib.sty,
algorithm.sty, acronym.sty, cite.sty, subfigure.sty and tocvsec2.sty.
so i went to get all those packages and put it in utmthesis folder.
but later when i compile the file again, this is what i got:

entering extended mode
(thesis.tex
LaTeX2e <2005/12/01>

(algorithm.sty)

i am clueless about what should i do next. please advise. thanks a
lot..

Hi,

What OS do you use? Windows or Linux? And what LaTeX distribution do
you use? MikTeX?

Ok, forget about the questions I ask. I am not very sure what trouble
you are having but from my experience, if you are using MikTeX, there
is a package manager that help you install all those *.sty files.
Instead of manual download and extract it, I would suggest you to use
the package manager to do the appropriate installation. Not using
Winedit before, in Windows, I normally use Crimson/Emerald Editor.
Maybe you want to uninstall MikTeX and try from scratch. The new
version 2.8 have a build-in tex editor.
