I'm really glad that people brought up theme building because that
inevitably leads to team building. If yall are interested, we can work
on going to something like Brickcon or Brickworld next year. We'd have
to raise and donate money for travel, but, if we can work together
well as a team, it might be worthwhile.
BrickCon! -
https://www.brickcon.org/ Based in Seattle, Brickcon
features Lego displays, merchandise (custom lego parts and minifigs!),
and building competitions. It is generally early in the Fall. It is so
well known, that it was featured in a Lego documentary short called "A
Blockumentary." I've never been to Seattle, so this is something I
would love to do.
Brickworld -
http://www.brickworld.us/bw2010/ Held in the suburbs of
Chicago, Brickworld is held annually every summer. Brickworld is a
little bit longer and features much of the same fare, Interaction with
LEGO representatives, on-site building, contests and games, and Lego
merchandise.
I think either of these would be fun, so weigh in on which is more
interesting to you and what themes you would want to do. This will be
up for discussion next meeting (September 21!), so please reply and
voice your opinion!
