Hi all,
There have been a lot of folks who have joined our email list in the past few months, so I thought a quick club update would be a good thing.
Last weekend was the New Braunfels Model Railroad Jamboree. TexLUG'ers set up a train and MOC display, and as usual had a really good time. Photos to come soon, I assume :-)
This weekend (April 1 - 3) is ChimaeraCon 2011 in San Antonio. There have been several recent emails to the group email box about this. If you need more info, please let me know. If you're not participating, we would, at the least, love to see you come out and say hi.
May 27-29 is Comicpalooza in Houston (George R. Brown Conv. Center). We'll be putting on a sci-fi/comic/fantasy related display. Please contact me if you need more info.
The
Grand event this year is
Brick Fiesta! TexLUG is hosting this event, and it is the first international AFOL convention and public display in Texas and the southern US.
Brick Fiesta will be in Austin starting on June 30 and running through July 3.
The event is now 3 months away. If you haven't registered yet, please do so:
http://www.brickfiesta.com
Please tell your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. about Brick Fiesta and help us spread the word. Please let folks know that there's full-blown registration (the "Convention Ticket") to attend the whole event and display your MOCs:
http://brickfiesta.com/convention/tickets/And there is also an exhibition open to the public to just come and look at all the displays:
http://brickfiesta.com/public-exhibition/
Lastly, please remember our discussion forum:
http://www.fineclonier.com/TexLug/
If you haven't registered yet, please consider it. It's free and open to all TexLUG members.
Thank you! And I hope to see you at one of our future events this year!
best regards,
TJ Avery
