To help users navigate the device with soft keys in any screen orientation, Fire OS 5 shows the Android navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. For information about the specifications for the navigation bar, see UX Specifications. The navigation bar does not have customization.
really need help for my samsung galaxy!! At first my screen used to get frozen so i used to do hard factory reset for it but still it used to persist often then once when i factory resetted my phone the touch screen started working perfectly fine!! but then the menu key & the back key stopped working! only the home key & other rest of the keys are working. i think its a software problem because the light still works when i switch on or whn i press the home button. I seriously need help!!
1 I first set up the soft keys with the Ipad as mute buttons
2 I then needed to use soft keys 2-4 for scene recall, scene previous, scene next. This i programmed on the console and pressed apply for each soft key
3 After pressing the soft keys for once it goes back to my previous setting for mute groups
4 I then unassigned the soft keys, reassign them but the same issue persists.
5 I tried to do it on the ipad but was in use for the aux page
Why isn't there an option to swap the "back" and "recent" soft keys? I'm right handed, as most people, and the back button is on the left. So it's hard to use the phone with one hand. A lot of people are complaining about this and it's an easy feature to build/enable, so why isn't this option available?
The back button is something we use all the time and the recent apps buttons much less. It would be more logical that the back button is on the right (for right handed people) so you can work much faster. Please Sony, add this option.
I use this on my XA2 stock (still on Oreo) to switch the back with the recents button. It even allows me to have two extra buttons (in my case with switch off screen and show notifications, very handy):
If you try to reach someone and receive a busy signal, voicemail, or the call is not answered, the Callback feature can alert you when that person is available to talk. If enabled, Callback appears on your phone as a feature button or a soft key.
To use this app you need to install it on your device and then you can customize the navigation bar as you wish. To customize the navigation bar you need to open the application from your Android device and from the main screen you need to choose the position of the navigation bar, the icon theme, the height and width, the transparency, the vibration, and the recent, start and back buttons.
LWUIT detects soft buttons automatically, and navigation is already portable. LWUIT supports touch screens seamlessly out of the box. Text input works with the device native text box, ensuring proper input.
Soft buttons for common devices in the market are detected automatically by LWUIT. If LWUIT fails to detect a specific device a developer can still set the key code for the soft keys using setter methods in Display.
