And I love the community, YOU GUYS! It really feels like a bunch of people who genuinely love the product and want to promote it's growth. And Shadow chat for support has actually been helpful unlike many other tech companies.
This is one of the best gaming purchases I've made, sure I'd love for the new tiers to hit the US but I'm very happy with the performance now at such a good price and not taking up my limited apartment space ($156 for a rig that could cost up to $1,000, basically be large and cumbersome space wise, need to use my bandwidth to remote stream which is when I use Shadow the most, and would cost a bundle to upgrade in the future).
It is difficult to find an algorithm for this detection.I guess the frequency of the flickering is the half of the CRT refresh rate (NTSC would be 60 Hz means, 30 shadows per second - PAL would be 50 Hz means, 25 shadows per second).
This could lead to interessting results.Imagine the screen is always moving. So you also have to add a detection concerning the color.I dunno if flickering is only used with black.But flickering is in general used to generate some kind of transparency effect. It was an alternative approach to dithering, especially for shadows.
I'm far from a tech wizard of any kind, and although 1080p is my default option, I do find myself switching to 480p for extended periods, be it on the PS4 or Wii U. Theirs just something kinda alluring about lower resolutions, everything seems to mesh together and runs smoother, even if really doesn't,........and the loss of detail is made up by the fact that it's harder to spot lower poly textures and just the artificiality of it all. Maybe it's a bit of my mid to late 90s PC days and my preference for low resolution / high frame rate.
I guess I will be doing it a fair bit if the only way to disable the filters on e.g SNES games is to switch to 480p. (Presuming I want to play them on the TV). Still got two weeks until the damn thing arrives.
Your kinda nuking it though, Killzone :Shadow Fall on the PS4 has notoriously small text, and I still can read it fine, if not slightly better, in 480p.......now, the image isn't as crisp, given the lower res, but the text is fine, most games zoom in very slightly when set at 480p as well, at least on the Wii U and PS4.
P.s when i tried my internal gpu and removed my gpu, everything worked properly and the display was fine. But when i put the gpu back it came back to 480p and grey display, i tried updating drivers but always an error would occur
