Reality, though, is dramatically different. PRP's often cover too
much shit and are organized pitifully. They demand better management
and more preparation - a month long reading list to get us acquainted
with materials and a definitive time line would help.
They do give you a taste of some of the crap you get in the "real"
world and I learned a lot from the PRP - I just wish there were
more opportunities for some students to step in and shore up the
management - I never knew if this was an appropriate role for a
student and that if I tried to do too much the prof's might resent
me and give me a shitty grade.
