Applications are now being accepted for The Century Institute Summer
Program, a two-week fellowship designed to introduce undergraduate
students to the progressive tradition in American public policy. The
program will be held at Williams College in Williamstown,
Massachusetts from July 1 through July 14, 2000. Participants will
meet with prominent scholars, policy experts, and activists to
discuss the social and political challenges facing America. The
program will be directed Paul Starr, cofounder and editor of The
American Prospect, and professor of sociology at Princeton University.
The program is open to any student who is a sophomore or junior in
the 2000-2001 year and who has an interest in public policy and civic
engagement. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
