Judith has provided a more definitive answer about the undergrad individual reports.  Sounds to me like everyone needs to turn in an individual version, regardless of whether you actually need the writing component.

Hi David,

CS 378, Unified Approach to Verification and Validation-W, is an upper-division substantial writing component. As such, the instructor is guaranteeing the University that all enrolled students are completing the substantial writing component requirements.

As the instructor is obligated to require writing for students in a substantial writing component course, you are obligated as a student to do the same work as all of the other students in the course.

My regards,
Judith Quinney

It is my understanding that you choose which of the classes that qualify to be your writing component classes.  According to this understanding, if you don't need this course as a writing component class, then you don't need to turn in a separate project write - just the group write up.  You should check with Judith Quinney just to be sure I am recalling the regulations properly.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

David is correct.  Each person should submit an individual report
