here is the response i received from Chris McAlpine,

Dear Richard:

thank you for your proposal for approval of Kung Fu as a recognized
Club Sport at The University of Texas at Dallas. We regret to inform
you that your proposal cannot be approved for the academic year
2011-2012. The Club Sports department was unable to approve the Kung
Fu Club due to the lack of indoor space available.

Please be aware that Recreational Sports' decision not to recognize
the Kung Fu Club as a Club Sport means that no Activity Center
Facilities; including indoor rooms, or outdoor practice fields are to
be used for team activities.

Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions concerning
this matter. I wish you continued success in your academic,
recreational, and future endeavors.

i'm definitely giving him a call. not only did he tell us no, but he
also said we can't continue meeting indoors or outdoors, but he said
it was because of lack of indoor space. that's false. we've been
having friday practices in the multi-purpose room and there are plenty
of other times available in both the green and orange multi purpose
rooms, as well as the galaxy rooms.

until i get this a little more sorted out, we need to stop meeting.
there's no sense making things worse. however, if he still denies the
club, i will continue to meet with people in the spirit of common
interest.
