to UTD Kung Fu Club
sorry guys, i'm throwing in the towel. The Kung Fu Club has had a
brief period of success, but overall it hasn't done well. I've been
turned down by the club sports program and i missed the orientation
for the student organization registration and since this is my senior
year, my hopes of getting the club up and running are not going to be
fulfilled. to top it off, it's difficult to get classes rolling
because we just can't seem to get enough people to show up
regularly.

I don't mean to complain, but i teach music, i teach my kickboxing
class, i have my sales job and my work with the UTD guitar department,
all on top of full 12 hour class schedule, full of film projects and
homework. that's not to mention showing up to my lessons with my sifu
and the numerous music projects that come and go, which i have to
practice for, write/record parts for, and go perform. despite all of
this, i made time to show up to every meeting that i have organized
for the past year, minus a couple that i gave due notice about.

i'm not blaming you guys for not showing up, i know you are all very
busy, as well, some of you even more so than me! i'm just saying this
is the kind of thing that stunts progress for the club, due to plain
old bad luck maybe. yesterday, i barely got to eat at all. i thought
i would have a break around lunch time to go home and prepare and eat
and relax, but i got called to do something else for my service
fraternity. anyway, when i got out of class at 7 i rushed home,
boiled some potatoes for dinner, changed into my kung fu stuff and ate
them on the way to the school. i ran to the AC and got there 3
minutes late, waited 20 minutes, only to find that no one ever showed
up. i'm not mad about it, i just can't afford to keep this up if i'm
going to be the only one there.

now, i would love for any of you to keep the club going, because next
semester, a lot of the groundwork has been laid out to get it
registered as a student org. i'd be happy to come teach when you want
me to, if that is the case. Other than that, if you want to continue
to learn from me, we can work something out, just let me know. if you
want to get together sometime and spar, i'm always down. and if you
just want to hang out, i'd love to. i want to do my best to maintain
the friendships that i've developed with you.

i hope you all keep training and make a lot of progress. don't ever
stop because kung fu is full of essential skills that make for a
fuller, more successful, and more satisfying life. i'll keep the
pages up and running, because from time to time, i'd like to try and
get everyone together for a session.
