I'm having problems getting my old configuration to work with my new
setup (zaptel -> dahdi), I'm sure it's just something stupid that I'm
missing but I'm unfortunately running out of time to figure it out.

I got it taken care of myself, it was just some incompatibilities in the configuration files that I was missing because of lack of sleep. :-) Thank you to those of you who replied offering help, I appreciate it.
