Hello All,

For those of you that have not looked ahead at the MANA 5312 syllabus,
there will be an Organizational Assessment assignment that accounts
for 30% of our grade (and it looks like an additional 10% peer
review). You can look at the syllabus on Jim Quick's website for all
the details, but the main focus of the assignment is that groups of 5
students will be working together to assess the four fundamentals of
management in an outside organization.

It sounds like the assignment will be during the second half of the
class, but as we have now experienced, 5 weeks goes by extremely fast.
My point in writing this post is that I would like to throw out the
idea of going ahead and selecting a group ahead of time. I would
assume that we are able to choose our own group of 5 students (not
assigned by Quick), and I would assume that the students that are most
serious about their education are probably tuned into this MBA Group.

I by no means claim to be the smartest person in our class, but I
already have a master's degree in another field and am a co-owner of a
successful manufacturing business. I take my education very seriously
and would prefer not to end up partnered with students that are less
focused on success in grad school by default because we do not all
know each other yet.

If you are interested in joining with me, you can either respond to
the post or e-mail me directly.

Thanks!
