Just a note to say that I hope you all had a great weekend! It was
great to see the sunshine, wasn't it?

As we start into the season of spring cleaning, yardwork, and
vacations -- just a note to remind all of you to take care of
yourselves!

I don't know how you are, but if I am having a good day pain wise and
I overdo it, I pay -- big time -- the next day! I have learned that
when I still take time to rest and maybe sit back and let others to
the "heavy stuff," even though I might want to do it, I feel better,
and I have a much more functional life!

It would be great to hear your ideas on this subject! How do you get
things done or deal with the frustration of not getting them done?
Any ideas out there from you that have been at this a while longer
than the rest of us?

Have a great and pain-free week!

Hi All,

I have found that I do not have the energy to work a normal 40 day work week. I have an understanding emplyer (who has MS) and he has allowed me to work my week all week long. I basically work 6 days at about 6 and a half hours a day. It has saved my job and I find I am more productive this way. I realize not all jobs work this way, but for me it helps considerably with my lack of energy.

ALSO - After a year an a half of pain, which I describe as having a constant 103 degree fever without the temperature, (I always feel achy and my joints hurt) and with no success with pain normal pain meds, my Rheumatologist suggested an old NSAD, not used much anymore. It is extreamly popular in other contries but has been replaced by the more flashy and newer meds. It is called Diclofenac (2 - 75 mg/day), and has saved me. It didnt do much the first week, but one morning I woke up feeling like myself again. It has ben my miracle. It got rid of most the pain, I still miss my energy but I am not as depressed with pain anymore.

Doctors don't like to prescribe it because it is hard on your stomach IF YOU HAVE Stomach problems. It does not effect me at all. The Methotraxate I am taking has an effect but not the Diclofenac.

You may want to talk to your doc about it. There are people on it their entire life with no side effects.

On another point, If you have Pulmonary Sarc, like me, I found that if I go to St. George, I fell much better. My O2 Sats go from 87 or 88 to 92 or 93 down there. That gives me twice the energy and my brain works. I also do not need to be on oxygen there. It is now my favorite vacation spot. I actually bought a small place down there and I go as often as I can. Real Estate is half the price it was a few years ago. This area really got hit hard by the real estate crash. It is the elevation that makes the difference. I go from Oakley at 6500 feet to there at 2700 feet. Las Vegas is even lower.

God Bless You All!
